Walk in from Sukhumvit Road and take the full length of the soi before stopping anywhere. You'll see the open-fronted beer bars on both sides — the format is consistent, the prices are similar, and your choice of where to sit is mostly about which bar has the friendliest looking staff or the best view of the soi.
The steakhouses are at the far end — arrive before 8pm for a table without waiting. After dinner, work back up the soi toward Sukhumvit. The bars get busier through the evening and Bourbon Street's terrace is the best place to end up when everything else gets too loud.
